I was one of the first students to train
with all the Master’s who brought Tae Kwon Do and
Muay Thai to England, Grand Master Chinawut Sirisompan (Master
Woody) Grand Master Thohsaphon Sitiwatjana (Master Toddy)
Master Sken Kaewpadung (Master Sken) Master Kriangsak Sirisambhand
(Master Krin) from 1973/4 in Oldham where I gained the Level
of Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do moving up to 3rd Dan.
I was fortunate to be involved with the
set up of one of the first Associations in England, British
Association of Thai Martial Arts (BATMA) with Grand Master
Toddy & Grand Master Woody & then the British Thai
Boxing Council (BTBC) with Grand Master Woody & Master
Sken.
I held the British Championship Title at
light welterweight with BATMA before I retired in 1981.
I formed my own camp in 1984 named the Siam
Camp based in Oldham, England which I still run, it has
been successful at all levels of competition with Champions
at World, British, National, and Area level, both the name
and place are in respect of Thailand (Siam) and my teachers
from (Oldham) our web site will be on line very soon, www.siamcamp.com
I have achieved the level of International
Referee & Judge and was invited to be a Jury Member
at the European Championships in Portugal in 2002 and at
the 6th World Championships in Bangkok 2003 & WMF World
Championships in Chiang Mai, Thailand 2004.
I have been involved with the IAMTF / IMTF
since1994 were I have held a number of roles within the
Federation.
National Coach 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000,
2001, 2002, 2003.
Assistant National Representative 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000,
2001, 2002
Director of Sport 2000, 2001, 2003
International Licencing Officer 2002, 2003. As appointed
by Thailand.
Chairman of England Jan 2003, 2004. (By Election).
WMF Temporary Executive Member November 2003
(Nominated by World Members & accepted by the acting
Thailand members).
WMF Executive Member representing Europe,
Nominated by World Congress and appointed by election.
European Muaythai Confederation (EMC) Nominated & appointed
General Secretary and Treasurer
I currently hold the prestigious rank of
Khan 14 Arjarn (Master of Muay Thai), which was presented
to me in Thailand in 2003 by
General Tienchai Sirisompan (President of IMTF)
on behalf of the Grand Masters of Thailand.
After being a loyal student for over 30
years I am still learning the art and enjoy passing it on
to others.
